Parkway Brewing Company
March 8, 2013
We (Shannon & Phil) played last night at Parkway Brewing Company with one mic, one guitar, one fiddle, and lots of good beer! We had a blast and felt very welcomed as we mashed out fiddle tunes and some new original songs that Phil has written over the last couple months.
If you haven’t been to Parkway Brewing Company yet, you’re missing out. All the beers are great, and you can take a growler home to enjoy. Current tasting hours are Thursday-Friday from 4-8 and Saturdays 1-7. The warehouse atmosphere is perfect for good music and good beer, would love to see this place take-off as a hot spot venue for locals and travelers. The only place you will see a catering truck pull in the building and serve food…Bruno’s Gastro Truck that is!
Winter/Spring 2013
January 10, 2013
Hello bluegrass friends and neighbors!
We’re tooling up for a great 2013, starting with our first time out to Pomegranate in Troutville on February 16. We’re talking to some other great local and regional rooms, including our good friends at the Fork(s), and should have more show dates to share with you soon.
Holiday 6 pack
December 10, 2012
Warren, Steve, and Phil got together for a little holiday cheer and decided to record a Christmas song. Here’s what happened a few beers later…
Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and all those glad tidings from Blue Moonshine!
Why you been gone so long?
October 22, 2012
We’ve got some new friends jamming with us these days — here’s Steve Bennett on the mandolin and singing this number, and David Carroll on the banjo last Friday night at Roanoke’s Fork in the City. Good times!
We’ve got a couple of shows in the next two weeks — keep an eye on the shows page and the facebook machine for more soon!
He’s headed through the gap to Johnson City, Tennessee
July 14, 2012
We’re gonna miss Mr. Will Farmer when he moves at the end of the month — there’s very few great friends who can sing tenor, write great songs, slap the upright bass, and play a hot lead guitar left-handed. He’s not actually leaving the band, just the state. For gigs in the right radius, he’ll still be on stage with us, just not as often.
Join us Thursday night, July 19 at Martin’s Downtown in Roanoke as we give Will a proper send-off. Joining us is an incredible songwriter from New York City, Kelley McRae.
Good Time Music Fundraiser for Montvale Rec Club
November 30, 2011
Get some holiday Blue Moonshine on Saturday, December 17 at the Montvale Rec Club. They’re trying to raise money for some building improvements, so come on out and flatfoot until you rub blisters in your Christmas stockings!
Occupy the Fork!
November 1, 2011
Join us at the Fork in the City on Saturday night, November 5 from 8 till they shut us down!
And we’re still going strong with our every-other-Sundays at the Fork in the Alley — we’ll be there at least through November (the 13th and 27th, from 5-8), and maybe longer weather-permitting.
We’re working on booking more winter gigs — stay tuned!
The Lonesome Fugitive

Merle Haggard is good music.
In Jail Again *Live*

A mighty fine Will Farmer original. You can find it on our first album, New Mountain Music, on iTunes.
Every Other Sunday at Fork in the Alley
May 16, 2011
It’s that time of year again! Join us every other Sunday afternoon from 4-7 at Roanoke’s Fork in the Alley brick oven pub!
We’ve been doing this Sunday series for a couple of years now, and it’s always a great time. We sit out on the covered patio, enjoy a few Roanoke Railhouse beers, and make good time music for you!
If you get confused as to which Sunday we’re playing, never fear — it’s listed on the Fork in the Alley website, and, better yet, our good friends Acoustic Endeavors are there on the other Sundays!
Remember, the weekend isn’t over until you stick a fork in it!
